Sources say Rahul Gandhi had to immediately constitute a committee which would decide on the distribution of tickets for the elections, in order to resolve the prolonging tiff between the two leaders. Senior party leaders Ashok Gehlot, Veerappa Moily and Ahmed Patel were appointed members in the committee.
Internal rift in MP Congress:
It is a known fact about Madhya Pradesh Congress that they have been unable to defeat Shivraj government in last 15 years because of their internal rift and has exasperated the problem. Digvijaya has his separate camp, Scindia and senior leader leader Kamal Nath have their own. Considering the past trend and the factionalism marring the Congress' prospects, the party was attempting to work on the differences and put up a united face in the forthcoming polls.
Scindia is Congress Member of Parliament from Guna city of Madhya Pradesh whereas; Digvijaya Singh is an MP from Madhya Pradesh as well and the General Secratory of All India Congress Committee.
Madhya Pradesh is set to go to polls on November 28. The counting of votes is set to take place on December 11.
