New Delhi: The Indian National Congress Party on Friday released a list of 12 candidates from Bihar, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh. The party revealed the names of four candidates from Bihar, seven from Odisha and one candidate from Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj.


The party revealed the names of candidates for Sapaul, Samastipur SC, Munger, and Sasaram SC seats from Bihar, from where Ranjeet Ranjan will be contesting for Sapaul seat, Ashok Kumar from Samastipur SC seat, Neelam Devi from Munger and Meira Kumar from Sasaram SC seat.

The party also changed the name of its candidate from one seat in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, party had suggested Tanushree Tripathi’s name from Maharajganj, later in the fresh list, party replaced her with Supriya Shrinate.




The party on Friday also revealed that actor-turned politician Urmila Matondkar who recently joined Congress will be contesting the upcoming polls on party’s seat from Mumbai North.

The voting for Lok Sabha polls in Bihar are set to take place in 7 phases, staring April 11. The voting in Bihar will end on May 19; whereas, in Uttar Pradesh the voting is set to take place in 6 phases starting April 11, the voting here will end on May 19.

The counting of votes in both Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are set to take place on May 23.
