The Bahujan Samaj Party declared the list of 5 candidates for Uttarakhand for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in two separate lists on Tuesday.

The BSP fielded Neem Chandra Ghuriyal from Tehri Garhwal, Dheer Singh Bisht from Pauri Garhwal, Narayan Ram from Almora, Akhtar Ali Mahagir from Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar and Jamil Ahmed from Haridwar.

Earlier on Sunday, the Bahujan Samaj Party declared the candidates for 25 of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections in two separate lists.

The Mayawati-led party has fielded Majid Ali from Saharanpur, Shripal Singh from Kairana, Dara Singh Prajapati from Muzaffarnagar, Vijyendra Singh from Bijnor, Surendra Pal Singh from Nagina (SC seat) and Mohammad Irfan Saifi from Moradabad, as per the first list released by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

BSP Candidate From Haridwar Quits Party

The BSP had earlier named Bhavna Pandey as its candidate from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat. However, Bhavna Pandey on Tuesday quit the party a day after she joined the BSP and was named the candidate from Haridwar. She has said she will join the BJP on March 28.

"I will campaign for BJP candidate Trivendra Singh Rawat," she told PTI.

Soon after Pandey quit the BSP, the Mayawati-led party declared Maulana Jameel Ahmed Kazmi, former party MLA in Uttar Pradesh, as its new candidate from Haridwar.

BSP supremo Mayawati had also contested from Haridwar in 1984. She had garnered around 1.25 lakh votes but lost the polls. The BJP has been winning Haridwar seat since 2014 general elections.

The saffron party has fielded former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat from the seat this time, replacing Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank. The Congress has fielded former chief minister and party veteran Harish Rawat's son Virender Rawat from Haridwar.
