Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol. Thirumavalavan announced the party's candidate for the two constituencies allotted by DMK ahead of Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Earlier, DMK allotted Chidambaram and Villupuram constituencies for VCK. 


According to ANI, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) president Thol. Thirumavalavan for parliament election to their two constituencies named Thirumavalavan from Chidambaram constituency and Ravikumar from Villupuram constituency. In Tamil Nadu, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) is in alliance with DMK.

The party candidates faced 2019 Parliamentary Elections from the same seat. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the VCK secured victories in both seats it contested. However, claiming victory in Chidambaram seat proved to be challenging for the party. The electoral battle for this constituency was fiercely contested, with the final outcome being announced amidst considerable unrest in the region.


The Chidambaram Lok Sabha constituency encompasses approximately 28 to 30 percent of the Scheduled Caste population, with Vanniyars and Dalits constituting the remaining portion of the demographic landscape.


Manithaneya Makkal Katchi Extends Support To I.N.D.I.A


Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi General Secretary Thamimun Ansari on Tuesday announced their support for I.N.D.I.A bloc after a meet with DMK leaders at party headquarters Anna Arivalayam. 










In the 2021 elections, Manithaneya Makkal Katchi joined the DPA alliance with DMK allocating two seats: Papanasam and Manapparai. In Papanasam, the leader of Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, Jawahirullah, contested using the Scissor Symbol. Additionally, in Manapparai, the party's candidate Abdul Samadhu ran using DMK's Raising Sun Symbol. MNK was part of the DMK alliance even in TN Assembly Elections 2016.
