Congress general secretary Sachin Pilot Wednesday hit out at the BJP, claiming the party is distracting people by raising communal issues rather than giving an account of what it has done during its 10-year rule in the country.
"The BJP's slogan of crossing 400 seats (for the NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections will remain a slogan and this time the BJP will be limited to only a few seats," he said.
Campaigning for Congress nominee Vikramaditya Singh from the Mandi Lok Sabha seat, Pilot claimed rival BJP's candidate, actress Kangana Ranaut, is not even aware of the constituency's geographical conditions, whereas Singh and his family have served Himachal Pradesh for many years.
Talking to the media on the sidelines of a rally in the Biasar in the constituency, Pilot said BJP leaders should now give an account of their work of the last 10 years and not try to mislead the public by repeating things from history.
"Today, the leaders of INDIA alliance are getting support across the country and on June 4 the entire situation will become clear as to what kind of leadership the people of the country want now," he said.

PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections from the Anantnag-Rajouri seat in Jammu and Kashmir, will rally support for the abolition of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the party's youth wing president Waheed Ur Rehman Para said.
Para, who served an 18-month jail term following his arrest in a terror conspiracy case in November 2020, condemned the UAPA, claiming it violates basic rights, undermines democratic values by allowing prolonged detention without a trial.
Speaking to PTI at a campaign event for his party chief Mehbooba Mufti in south Kashmir, Para highlighted "alarming statistics" associated with the UAPA, citing its alleged misuse and low conviction rates.
He stressed Mufti's commitment to repealing the law which is perceived as an instrument of governmental overreach. "If elected, Mehbooba will work towards repealing this law, which is seen as a gross abuse of power," Para, also the candidate from Srinagar, said, emphasising his party's opposition to oppressive laws like the UAPA which are being used to "stifle dissent and encroach on civil liberties". The Trinamool Congress on Wednesday voiced concern over the Election Commission not releasing the actual numbers of voter turnout in the ongoing general elections, and questioned why the BJP is the only party that has not sought this information so far. In a post on X, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Saket Gokhale shared a copy of an application filed by him under the Right to Information on May 1 and said he has not received any reply from the Election Commission. Gokhale had asked the Election Commission to furnish the details of the total number of electors, total number of voters, and total turnout for voting in the 102 parliamentary constituencies that went to polls in the first two phases. After TMC lodged a case against 2 advertisements of BJP, Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacherjee on Monday issued an interim stay on their release. Thereafter, after getting a nod from the Chief Justice, the BJP lawyer filed a case against the order of interim stay.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, in response to PM's "need 400 seats so the Congress cannot put the Babri lock on the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya" remark, said: "Why does the PM not speak about factories that have been locked up? When he announced demonetisation, several small and medium industries got locked down...During the lockdown, people from Uttar Pradesh were stuck in different parts of the country, and several of them died. He does not speak about that lock."
Ahead of the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission of India prepared Braille ballot papers, to enable the visually impaired people to participate in the voting process and cast their votes.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge remarked on parties contesting against each other and stressed that there was "no disunity among I.N.D.I.A bloc partners in their fight against the central government.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh claimed that the BJP would form a government in the Centre and the state in Odisha, saying "One thing is clear, BJP govt will be formed in the Centre and state (Odisha). People of Odisha will play a big role in this".
Commenting on a stampede-like situation at an election rally, Samajwadi Party leader Dharmendra Yadav stated: "There is excitement among workers, they want to change the government. I also feel that UP government and administration are not providing proper security..."
The Election Commission on Tuesday directed the Andhra Pradesh police chief to take strict criminal action against YSRCP MLA P Ramakrishna Reddy. Reddy was allegedly caught on camera damaging an EVM in the Macherla assembly constituency during the May 13 polls.
