EC Issues Notice To Andhra Pradesh CM Reddy Over Alleged Derogatory Remarks Against TDP Chief

The Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notice to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy following allegations of making derogatory comments against former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, leader of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). 
This comes after TDP Politburo member Varla Ramaiah wrote to the EC filing an official complaint against CM Jagan Reddy on April 5. 


The EC served notice to Jagan asking him to submit his stand within 48 hours, failing which a report will be sent to EC for further action against Jagan Reddy, reported ANI.

Congress Hits Back at Modi's 'Muslim League' Remark On Party Manifesto


The Congress responded sharply to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's accusation that the party's manifesto bore a Muslim League imprint, countering with historical facts and accusing the BJP of practising divisive politics. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh pointed out historical inaccuracies in the Prime Minister's statement. Ramesh highlighted that it was Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of the Jan Sangh and president of the Hindu Mahasabha at the time, who was part of a coalition government in Bengal with the Muslim League during the early 1940s. He further noted similar coalitions between the Hindu Mahasabha and the Muslim League in Sindh and North-West Frontier Province.


Ramesh refuted Modi's claims and accused the BJP of promoting divisiveness in Indian politics. He emphasised that it was the BJP, not the Congress, that embraced and perpetuated the politics of division.
