Lok Sabha Elections: The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released its first list of candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. In the list, the saffron party announced the names of candidates on 195 seats. The saffron party has fielded former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Vidisha, and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will be contesting the poll from Guna, which he lost as a Congress candidate in 2019.
The saffron party has dropped the name of Pragya Singh Thakur from the list, and BJP leader Alok Sharma has been fielded from Bhopal in MP.

The first list of the saffron party included several big names, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been fielded from Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi for the third straight time; Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who will contest polls from Gandhinagar; and Union Defence Minister, who has been fielded from Lucknow.
After being fielded from MP’s Vidhisha for the upcoming polls, Shivraj Singh Chouhan called the party’s list “very balanced." "We will work towards achieving 'Viksit Bharat' under the leadership of PM Modi. It is a very balanced list of candidates, in which youth, women, and others have been given a chance to work," the former MP CM said.
The first list of candidates includes 34 central ministers and MoS and Lok Sabha Speaker, he added. Twenty-eight women, and 47 young leaders are featured in BJP's first list of Lok Sabha.
