Somnath Bharti is likely to be the Aam Aadmi Party's candidate from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency for the upcoming general elections while former MP Mahabal Mishra could be the probable candidate from West Delhi, as per sources. For East Delhi, Kuldeep Kumar and Gopal Rai are having strong probability while in South Delhi, Sahiram Pahalwan and Kartar Singh Tanwar are leading the race, the sources added.
The development comes a day after AAP called a meeting of it political affairs committee (PAC) to discuss the names of the candidates for the upcoming elections.
According to a PTI report quoting sources as saying, the party has already shortlisted a few names for each seat and a survey has also been conducted to get ground-level feedback on each.

The Arvind Kejriwal-led party has agreed to contest the polls in Delhi in alliance with Congress party wherein out of the total seven seats, the AAP will contest on four while Congress will field candidates on the remaining three seats.
On Saturday, the Congress party had announced that it will contest the general elections in alliance with AAP in Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Goa.
Under the seat sharing arrangement Congress will contest on 26 seats in Gujarat while AAP will nominate two candidates.
In Haryana, Congress will keep 10 seats and AAP will contest on one.

The lone seat in Chandigarh has been kept by Congress while in Goa, it will field candidates on both seats
The Aam Aadmi Party has already announced three candidates for Assam and two for Gujarat's Bharuch and Bhavnagar.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the AAP had contested from all the seven seats in Delhi, emerging as runner-up on two and finishing on the remaining three.
