New Delhi: The Rashtriya Janata Dal on Sunday announced its list of candidates for second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Bihar.

State unit chief of RJD Ramchandra Purve announced in a press conference that RJD’s Shailesh Kumar will contest from Bhagalpur constituency; Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav will contest from Banka, in the second phase of elections.

Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal, is a sitting Member of Parliament from Bhagalpur. He won the general election of 2014 being a Rashtriya Janata Dal candidate

Jay Prakash Narayan Yadav is a Member of the Lok Sabha since 2014 and represents Banka in the Parliament

In Bihar elections will be held in seven phases. The second phase election for the national polls will be held on April 18.

Five constituencies- Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj, Banka and Bhagalpur- will go to the polls in the second phase.
The grand alliance is contesting elections together in the state. Congress will field its candidates on three out of the five constituencies going to second phase polls.

RJD has announced names of candidates on the seats under it. Congress will field its candidates in Purnia, Katihar and Kishanganj seats.  It is yet to announce the names of its candidates of the corresponding seats.

Grand alliance leaders were present at RJD office during the press conference.  Congress spokesperson Harkhu Jha , RLSP state unit general secretary Satyanand Dagi, state unit chief of Hindustani Awam Morcha BL Baisantri were present in the conference.
