The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has unveiled its manifesto ahead of the highly anticipated Lok Sabha Elections 2024. As a member of the I.N.D.I.A bloc, the DMK has forged a significant electoral alliance with several parties in the state, including the Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK, MDMK, and KMDK.


Earlier, the DMK announced that it would contest 21 seats in the upcoming elections. As part of the strategic seat-sharing arrangement within the alliance, the DMK has allocated 9 seats to the Congress, while providing 2 seats each to VCK, CPI(M), CPI. Additionally, one seat each has been allotted to MDMK, IUML, and KMDK respectively. 


DMK Releases Manifesto


DMK released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, in the presence of Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, DMK MP Kanimozhi and other party leaders.

During the launch, CM Stalin said, said, "It is not just a manifesto for DMK but it is a manifesto for the people of Tamil Nadu. The fascist BJP has wasted India in all ways. The PM-led Modi government did not fulfill any promises. They destroyed the infrastructure of India. It is not good anymore for PM Modi's rule to continue. As a result of the care we got, we have formed I.N.D.I.A. bloc."

The major promises listed in 64-page DMK manifesto















  • The Indian government will amend the constitution in a manner that states will receive autonomy.













  • After obtaining the approval of the Chief Minister of the state, the Governors must be appointed.














  • Section 361, which grants maximum power to the governors, will be removed.


  • Puducherry will be granted statehood.


  • The central government examinations, including interviews for the examinations, will be conducted in the regional languages listed, including Tamil. 


  •  NEET will be abolished.


  • National Education Policy will be abolished.


  • Reservation of 33% of seats will be immediately implemented for women.


  • The government will implement a midday meal program for students in all schools across the country.















  • Re-establishing the Planning Commission, dissolved by the BJP government, to draft plans based on the requests of state governments across India, replacing the current NITI Aayog.


  • The Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA-2019) will be repealed.


  • College students will receive a free SIM card with One GB data per month.


  • 50% reservation in Union Government higher education institutions for students from the respective states.


  • The penalty for not maintaining a minimum balance in bank accounts will be abolished.


  • Citizenship will be facilitated for Sri Lankan Tamils living in India.




























  • A monthly allowance of Rs 1,000 will be provided to all women throughout India.
