Lalkuwa Election Result 2022: Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and Congress leader, Harish Singh Rawat has been defeated by BJP candidate Mohan Singh Bisht from the Lalkuwa seat by a margin of over 14,000 votes.
Prithvipal Singh Rawat from Bhaujan Samaj Party, Chandra Shekhar Pandey from Aam Aadmi Party, Manoj Pandey from Samajwadi Party and Bahdur Singh Jangi were in fray from teh Lalkuwa seat.
BJP was marching ahead in the hill state leading on 41 seats, followed by Congress with 25 seats while the Aam Aadmi Party and BSP could not secure any seat and Others won 4 seats.

Five-time member of Parliament from Almora and Haridwar, Congress senior leader Harish Singh Rawat had contested the election this year from Lalkuwa seat in Nainital district. The seat was earlier won by BJP’s Navin Chandra Dumka in 2017.
In the 2017 Uttarakhand Assembly elections, Rawat had contested from Haridwar Rural and Kich seats but could not secure his win on either.
Since Uttarakhand was carved out of Uttar Pradesh in 2002, the hill state has alternatively voted for the Congress and the BJP. The ABP News-CVoter Exit Poll for Uttarakhand, which underwent polling in a single phase on February 14, predicted a seat range of 26-32 for BJP and 32-38 seats for the Congress.
In terms of vote share, BJP was projected to grab 40.8% vote share while for Congress the predicted percentage was 39.3%. AAP was estimated to secure 8.7% vote share.
