Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday came down heavily on Congress after it promised to ban the right-wing outfit Bajrang Dal if chosen to power. The Congress released its manifesto for the May 10 Karnataka polls today in which it said to ban outfits like Bajrang Dal and Popular Front of India or others “promoting enmity or hatred, whether among majority or minority communities.”
Terming it a “complete Muslim fundamentalist manifesto”, the Assam CM said, “Even if Jinnah was alive, he would not make such a manifesto. Congress has become a Muslim fundamentalist party. Our HM had banned PFI and now Congress is saying that they will ban Bajrang Dal…”

Calling out the Congress party for its manifesto stating a ban on Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Vinod Bansal said the attacks on saints by Congress are not new because “ they have to please jihadis and give shelter to anti-nationals.”
Politics of Muslim polarisation and comparing Bajrang Dal with PFI is the last nail in the coffin of Congress, he added.
Karnataka Elections 2023: Congress Manifesto
The Congress released its manifesto for May 10 Karnataka polls today where it promised a ban on outfits such as Bajrang Dal.
“We believe that law and Constitution is sacrosanct and can not be violated by individuals and Organisations like Bajrang Dal, PFI or others We will take decisive action as per law including imposing a ban on any such organisations,” it said.
