Karnataka Election 2023: With the Karnataka Assembly Elections on May 10 just around the horizon, major political heavyweights from all parties are already swarming the southern state, campaigning for their respective candidates. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is one of the BJP's top campaigners. Since January, the prime minister has visited Karnataka nine times (as of April 30), the most in a single year since he took office in 2014.
PM Modi will attend three rallies on Sunday in the districts of Kolar, Channapattna, and Belur. PM Modi is slated to hold up to 12 to 15 rallies around the state over the next seven days, according to news agency ANI. PM Modi is slated to attend more than three rallies on each visit.
PM Modi began its campaigning on April 28, and will end it on May 7, 2023.
The BJP is using Karnataka as its "gateway to the South," and prominent officials such as Union Home Minister Amit Shah and national party president JP Nadda have been vigorously campaigning across the country.
“On April 30, PM Modi will address public meetings organized in Kolar, Channapatna and Mysore districts. After this, on May 2, PM Narendra Modi will campaign in Chitradurga, Vijayanagar, Sindhanur and Kalaburagi. On May 3, he will campaign for BJP candidates in Moodbidire, Karwar and Kittur," sources were quoted by ANI in its report.
Just as it did in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, the party has planned to organise a huge roadshow of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly in order to assure the party's candidates' victory.
Aside from these, the BJP is planning two or three more roadshows in the state.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced 222 candidates for the 224-member Karnataka assembly elections on May 10. On May 13, the results will be announced. To establish the state government, the party must reach the halfway point of 113 seats.
