As the voting day for Karnataka Assembly Elections 2023 nears, citizens are excited to see what the outcomes will be. People in Karnataka will cast their vote on Wednesday to elect a new state government. Campaigning for the elections ended on Monday with the BJP, Congress and the JD (S) trying their best to seek people's support.
It is essential for everyone to vote and a voter ID is required for that. Failure to present a voter ID during the voting will result in the voter not being able to vote. The Central Government recently introduced the e-Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC). PEIC is a secure PDF version of the Voter ID Card that people can easily download on their mobile or smartphone.
Voter ID or e-EPIC is issued by the Election Commission of India as a primary identity document for individuals who are of 18 years or above in order to cast their vote in municipal, state, and national elections.
As per reports, the use of digital voter ID cards on polling day has been reportedly authorised by the government in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. It is vital for people to know how to download their voter card in case they've lost it or don't have it with them.
