The BJP is going all guns blazing in the Jharkhand elections with the encroachers and alleged illegal immigrants issue. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday made a big claim on the Bharatiya Janata Party's solution to deal with illegal immigrants. He said that the National Register of Citizens would be implemented in Jharkhand if the BJP wins the assembly elections.
Earlier, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, a state that has been dealing with the problem of illegal Bangladeshi migrants, was engaged by the BJP as a campaigner for the Jharkhand elections. He has been explaining to voters the issues that can "harm Jharkhand" if illegal migrants increase in the state.

On Monday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said "foreign intruders" will be expelled from the state and the country. "The BJP's detailed manifesto in Jharkhand will be released soon. This election is not just for electing a Chief Minister or to bring a party to power. It is an election to save Jharkhand. It is our resolve to protect our daughters, soil, and bread."
He also alleged that the demography of Jharkhand is changing due to Bangladeshi intruders, a claim earlier made by Himanta Biswa Sarma as well. Shivraj Singh Chouhan further said the tribal population in the Santhal Pargana division in eastern Jharkhand has come down from 44% to 28%.
"The Hindu population has also been affected due to Bangladeshi intruders. In the greed of vote banks, Hemant Soren and the coalition government are protecting the intruders. Intruders are being handed out Aadhaar cards and voter IDs. Tribal daughters are being trapped in a web of lies and lands are being usurped by marrying them," the former Madhya Pradesh CM said.
When Will BJP Release Its Candidates' List For Jharkhand Polls?
The BJP is likely to release its first candidates' list for the Jharkhand Assembly elections next week. On Sunday evening, Himanta, who is the BJP's state election in charge for Jharkhand, said that a meeting will be held at the party headquarters in Delhi on Monday to decide the candidates. "After that, the parliamentary board will meet and then the list will be released. I think it will be a seven-day process," he said.
Earlier in the evening, the Jharkhand BJP held the State Election Committee meeting for the upcoming state assembly elections.
