Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that the Bhartiya Janta Party has been on the front foot because of its excellent election management. He said that BJP has always focused on planning and execution of policies. 


He said this while addressing a review meeting of the party's election management committee at Parwanoo in Solan on Sunday. 


He went on to congratulate the party leaders for their hard work and claimed that the saffron party was set to form a strong government in the hill state. 


The meeting was attended by several BJP leaders including state party president Suresh Kashyap, Dr. Rajeev Bindal, Dr. Sikandar Kumar, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Pawan Rana and senior BJP leader Mangal Pandey.

BJP state president Suresh Kashyap said on the occasion that BJP is the only political party which works 365 days, whereas all the other parties go to sleep once elections are done. 


Voting to the legislative assembly of Himachal Pradesh was conducted on November 12, in one phase, and the counting will take place on December 8. 


In the 2017 elections, the BJP won 44 seats, Congress got 21 seats while CPI (M) and others got one each. Himachal has 68 assembly seats, and a party must secure at least 34 to form the government in the hill state. 


The battle of Himachal Pradesh is witnessing a three-way battle this time with the Aam Aadmi Party trying to make in-roads in the state. 


With the conclusion of Himachal Polls, the political parties are now eyeing to win Gujarat for which the election is scheduled to place on December 1 and December 5. Counting of votes for Gujarat will be done along with Himachal Pradesh on December 8.
