Haryana Election Result 2024: Savitri Jindal has emerged victorious in the fiercely contested Hisar Assembly seat as an independent candidate. After casting her vote on October 5, Jindal had expressed confidence in her victory, saying, "I am contesting this election on behalf of the Hisar family, and I am confident I will win. The entire Hisar family is with me, so I do not need any party."

Known for her two-term stint as an MLA from this urban seat and as a minister in Bhupinder Hooda’s Congress-led government, Jindal sought "one last chance" to complete the developmental works of Hisar and serve its people.

With this win, she unseated the BJP’s sitting MLA Kamal Gupta, who had won the seat in both the 2014 and 2019 elections.

At 75, Savitri Jindal is  India’s wealthiest woman being chairperson of the OP Jindal Group, according to Forbes. As per Bloomberg, she is the 47th richest woman in the world. She had filed her nomination as an independent candidate on 12 September.
