Amid five Karnataka Congress legislators threatening to quit over Chikka Peddanna's candidature in Kolar, Karnataka Congress President and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar addressed the pressure and stated it would be discussed with the CM. He assured that no one would resign from the party and emphasised the unity among party leaders in Kolar.

On the dissatisfaction, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar said, "There is pressure from candidates for election ticket from Kolar. It will be discussed in a meeting with the CM. No one will resign from the party over this. All party leaders will work together in Kolar."

Asked about star campaigners from the Congress, he said, "AICC President is from Karnataka itself. We have requested Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to visit Karnataka. Considering they have to travel across the country for campaigning, we can’t expect them to spend many days in Karnataka."

Chikka Peddanna is the son-in-law of senior party member and Minister Muniyappa. Many insiders alleged that specific factions of Congress leaders in Kolar orchestrated a strategic maneuver aimed at pressuring Muniyappa concerning his participation in "family politics."

Following protests by 3 MLAs and 2 MLCs regarding his son-in-law's nomination for an election ticket in Kolar, Karnataka minister and Congress leader KH Muniyappa stated, "I will abide by the decisions of the Congress party. Let the party high command make the decision."
