Congress Never Respected Religious Places, Took Care of Nehru's Mistake For 70 years: Amit Shah in Una

Himachal Pradesh Election 2022: Shah claimed that Opposition had said that if Article 370 is touched, there will be bloodshed.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said that Congress did not respect our religious places for appeasement politics. Addressing a rally in Himachal Pradesh’s Una the minister said, “Congress never respected our religious places. It was PM Modiwho laid the foundation of Ram Janmabhoomi, redeveloped Kashi corridor, Ujjain’s Mahakal temple, Kedarnath & Badrinath among others.” Appealing people to vote for the BJP he said, “If you will give your vote to Satpal Singh, you will not only choose an MLA but a minister too.”

Talking about Article 370 the home minister said, “Congress party took care of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru’s mistake for 70 years. They were afraid that they would lose their vote bank. You made Modi ji prime minister for the second time and he removed Article 370.” Shah said that when he entered the parliament with the bill, the entire Opposition –SP, BSP, CPI, TMC, NC, and PDP assembled with Congress and said there would be massive bloodshed if Article 370 is touched. “Rahul baba, we removed Article 370 and forget about bloodshed, nobody even dared to throw a stone”, he added.

Amit Shah accused the Manmohan Singh-led UPA government of staying mum on the issue of infiltration from across the border. He said, “When our sons were beheaded, Manmohan Singh did nothing. You gave BJP a full majority in 2014 and made Narendra Modi the prime minister of the country. And when Pakistan attacked Pulwama, within 10 days we went inside the enemy’s house and killed terrorists there in a successful Balakot surgical strike. With this, prime minister Modi conveyed a strong message across the globe without uttering a single word. "

Amit Shah said that it was PM Modi who gave ‘One Rank One Pension' to the military personnel of the country. Shah said, “If any Congress person comes here, do ask why they did not give One Rank One Pension.”

The minister also spoke about various schemes being run by the Central and state government especially emphasizing schemes related to women. He also talked about the construction of AIIMS Bilaspur with a total expense of Rs 1500 crore and six new trauma care centres among others in the state.

Himachal Pradesh will go to polls on November 12 while the counting of votes will be done on December 8.
