In a significant political development, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sealed its alliance with Telugu Desam Party (TDP) overcoming previous uncertainties ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and Andhra Pradesh Assembly polls. According to news agency PTI, N Chandrababu Naidu said, "Andhra Pradesh has been destroyed badly. BJP, TDP coming together win-win situation for country, state."
However, the details related to seat sharing between BJP, TDP, and Janasena are yet to be announced.
In a joint statement, the parties said, "Under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Jana Sena Party (JSP) as being committed for the progress of country and the upliftment of state and people of Andhra Pradesh, have decided to contest the ensuing Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections together in Andhra Pradesh."
"Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has been working tirelessly for the development and progress of the nation for the last 10 years and coming together with TDP and JSP will help in reaching the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh," it added.
The statement mentioned that the modalities of seat sharing will be deliberated within a day or two.
In a post on X, Naidu said he was pleased to join the NDA again writing, "The alliance between BJP, TDP and JSP isn't just an alliance but rather a partnership between three stakeholders committed to serving Andhra Pradesh and the country. I'm confident that the people of AP will bless this alliance with a historic mandate to serve them. Together, we shall herald a golden era of growth and prosperity for our State. "
BJP Chief JP Nadda took to X and posted, "I wholeheartedly welcome the decision of Shri @ncbn and Shri @PawanKalyan to join the NDA family. Under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Hon. PM Shri @narendramodi ji, BJP, TDP, and JSP are committed to the progress of the country and the upliftment of the state and people of Andhra Pradesh."
TDP MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar said, "Our party national president N Chandrababu Naidu had a meeting with Amit Shah and JP Nadda along with Pawan Kalyan and came to an understanding that TDP is joining NDA and JanaSena is already part of NDA and will contest the upcoming 2024 elections in Andhra Pradesh in alliance..."

Chandrababu Naidu Meets JP Nadda, Amit Shah
Chandrababu Naidu, who extended his stay in Delhi for two days for this purpose, met BJP President JP Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The meeting between Naidu and Nadda is anticipated to be a significant step in reinforcing the alliance and setting the stage for their combined efforts in the upcoming electoral battles in Andhra Pradesh. This alliance and the return of Chandrababu Naidu to the NDA fold is seen as a strategic move by both parties to consolidate their position in Andhra Pradesh.
Earlier, Senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP K Ravindra Kumar said that BJP, Jana Sena, and TDP have decided to work together for Lok Sabha Polls.
Meanwhile, the BJP is actively working to broaden the coalition of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and is reportedly nearing an agreement with the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) of Odisha, a party that, like the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), was once an ally.
Chandrababu Naidu's departure from the NDA in 2018 was fueled by the central government's refusal to grant Andhra Pradesh special status, a contentious issue that led to the TDP severing ties with the BJP. Similarly, BJD leader and Odisha's Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik exited the alliance in 2009.
