Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public meeting in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh on Friday today and where he launched scathing attacks at Congress over the way terrorism was dealt with during their rule. He also blamed the grand old party for the rise in terrorism in India, which has now been "eliminated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
Criticising the party in reference to the now abrogated Article 370, Amit Shah stated: "Congress was preserving Article 370, like its own kid. Terrorism was on the rise due to it."
Shah further stated that the Congress party, during its rule, stayed silent while the terrorists from Pakistan carried out bomb blasts in India every day.
The union Home minister then went on to speak on Article 370, which was abrogated on August 5, 2019. Comparing the way Congress and the saffron party dealt with terrorism during their rule, Amit Shah said that the BJP government responded to the Pulwama and Uri attacks within 10 days and eliminated the terrorists by carrying out air strikes and surgical strikes.
"During the BJP government, when the terrorists from Pakistan made the mistake of creating havoc in Pulwama and Uri, within 10 days, the Indian Army entered Pakistan's territory and eliminated the terrorists by carrying out surgical strikes and air strikes," Shah said.
Amit Shah also claimed that PM Narendra Modi has "eliminated terrorism and Naxalism from this country."
PM Modi Dares Congress To Restore Article 370
PM Modi, during a rally in Udhampur on April 13, also hit out at the National Conference and PDP for causing damage to Jammu and Kashmir. He claimed that "no one has caused as much damage to J&K as much as these family-controlled parties."
PM Modi also slammed these parties for trying to spread false narratives about Article 370, adding that he had abrogated it and "buried its debris deep in the ground".
The PM stressed on the advantages of the abrogation of Article 370 and stated that one must ask the women of J&K about how the discrimination with them has ended post the abrogation.
NC's Aga Rahullah called the abrogation of Article 370 "unconstitutional and undemocratic" and claimed that it was done against the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
