Goa ABP News-CVoter Survey: BJP Could Return For A Second Consecutive Term, AAP Ahead Of Congress

ABP CVoter Survey Assembly Election 2022: The ruling BJP in Goa could retain power after a close electoral contest.

New Delhi: With months left for the crucial assembly elections in Goa, ABP News, along with CVoter, conducted a survey to gauge the mood of people in the poll-bound state.

Goa Assembly Election will be conducted in one phase, i.e. in the second phase of the Assembly Elections 2022. The date of polling in Goa is February 14, 2021.

In the 2017 Elections, the Congress had won 17 seats while BJP had won 13 seats, while the others had won 10 seats in a 40-member strong Goa Vidhan Sabha.

Despite having fewer seats in the House, the BJP managed to form the government in Goa with the help of regional parties. At present, BJP has 27 MLAs, Congress four, Goa Forward Party has three, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and MGP have one each and there are three Independents.

ABP News CVoter Opinion Poll 2022

In the latest ABP News Cvoter Opinion poll for Goa, the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading the way and looking to gain the most seats in the coastal state. 

The BJP is projected to win 19 to 23 seats, the Congres could get 4-8 seats, while the AAP is surprisingly ahead on 5 to 9 seats —  more than what the Congress might get. Local party MGP could also win 2 to 6 seats. 

Vote Percentage

The BJP is projected to secure the maximum vote share, that of 32% while the AAP is projected to garner 22.5% shoots while the Congress comes a third with 19.8% of projected votes. 

Goa will witness one of the fierce electoral battles with at least eight national and regional parties in the fray for the upcoming election. It is one state where the others are projected to win 18.1% of the votes.

The methodology used is CATI interviews of adult (18+) respondents with random numbers drawn from standard RDD and the sample size for the same is 89536+ across 5 states (UP, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur) & the survey was carried out during the period 12th December 2021 to 8th January 2022. The same is also expected to have a margin of error of ±3 to ±5% and may not necessarily have factored in all criteria.
