2019 LS polls: Congress to commence 'Nyay Yatra' in UP from today; Priyanka, Rahul to hold rallies
The Congress had earlier announced in their Lok Sabha manifesto that if they are voted to power they shall provide an annual benefit of Rs 72,000 per annum to the economically poor families.
As part of stepping up its efforts to lure voters in the ongoing elections, the Congress party is all set to commence its Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh from today.
The Nyay scheme is an integral part of the Congress poll manifesto with an aim to provide economic and social justice to the poor sections of the society.
The Congress had earlier announced in their Lok Sabha manifesto that if they are voted to power they shall provide an annual benefit of Rs 72,000 per annum to the economically poor families.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will hold a roadshow in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur Sikri today. She will be accompanied by party President Rahul Gandhi and UP West incharge Jyotiraditya Scindia.
The trio is expected to hold a roadshow in support of Congress candidate Raj Babbar. The three are also expected to address joint rallies in Aligarh and Nagina Lok Sabha seats.
All the three seats (Fatehpur Sikri, Aligarh and Nagina) in Uttar Pradesh will vote in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 18. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
Congress general secretary in-charge of eastern Uttar Pradesh Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is also scheduled be on a two-day visit to Amethi beginning Monday, April 15, 2019. Anil Singh, spokesperson of the Congress' Amethi unit, on Sunday said Priyanka Gandhi is scheduled to arrive in the district on Monday evening.
She is likely to hold meetings with party workers and also undertake tour of the area. Priyanka Gandhi is the Congress' big hope for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and she is trying to revive the party's fortunes in Uttar Pradesh, especially in the eastern part of the state.
