Solapur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sharad Bansode from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 149674 votes. The polling / voting in Solapur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 2 on 18 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Dr. Jaysidhesvar Swami and Congress Party#s Sushil kumar s shinde

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 23 out of the 48 parliamentary seat with 27.3 percent vote share while the Shiv Sena managed to win just 18 seats with a 20.6 percent vote share.

• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Shinde Sushilkumar Sambhajirao attained 336346 votes and BJP's Valyal Lingraj Balraiyya bagged 231974 votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated JD candidate with a difference of 17087 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Valyal Lingraj Balairayya attained 184075 votes and JD candidate Patil Ravikant Shankarappa bagged 166988 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 80090 votes INC candidate Sadul Dharmanna Mondayya had got 262623 while BJP got Bhutada Gopikisan Goverdhandas votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sadul Dharmanna Mondayya attained 281909 votes and BJP's Valyal Lingraj Balirayya bagged 146831 votes.
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Kuchan Gangadhar Sinramappa attained 258050 votes and BJP's Racheti Hanmantappaerappa bagged 67418 votes.
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Kuchan Gangadhar Sidramappa attained 204027 votes and JNP's Pannalal Surana bagged 99421 votes.

• 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 23713 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader S. F. Damani attained 116734 votes and IND candidate S. M . Dhanashetti bagged 93021 votes
• 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated HMS candidate by a margin of 73286 votes INC candidate Madeppa Beandappa Kadadi had got 135011 while HMS got Vishnupant Ramrao Patil votes.
• 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 26571 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Sonavane Tayappa Hari attained 189552 votes and IND candidate Babar Sidram Babaji bagged 162981 votes
• 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, PWP candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 51508 votes PWP candidate More Shankar Shantaram had got 209697 while INC got Sonavane Tayappa Hari votes.
