Background

Medak: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) won the elections by a margin of 397029 votes. The polling / voting in Medak constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Telangana Rashtra Samithi#s Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and Congress Party#s Gali anil kumar

Medak 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Telangana Rashtra Samithi won 11 out of the 17 parliamentary seat with 33.9 percent vote share while the Congress managed to win just 2 seats with a 20.5 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Medak Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 77.51% Lok Sabha percent with 78.21% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 76.79% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 10696 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 13 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Medak, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Kotha Prabhakar Reddy of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi as he defeated Dr.P. Shravan Kumar Reddy by a margin of 397029 votes.

  • 2009 Lok Sabha Elections: In 15th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Indian National Congress here Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate defeated his Indian National Congress counterpart with a difference of 6077 votes.
  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha poll, Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, TRS candidate A. Narendra attained 453738 votes and BJP's P Ramachandra Reddy bagged 329972 votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 22083 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader A. Narendra attained 400244 votes and Indian National Congress candidate M. Baga Reddy bagged 378161 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 16480 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader M.Baga Reddy attained 269122 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ale Narendra bagged 252642 votes
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate with a difference of 27489 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader M. Baaga Reddy attained 286278 votes and Telugu Desam Party candidate Patlolla Manik Reddy bagged 258789 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Telugu Desam Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate N. Baga Reddy attained 313740 votes and TDP's D. Rama Krishna bagged 173590 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Telugu Desam Party candidate by a margin of 96096 votes INC candidate Bagareddy M. had got 383586 while TDP got P.Manik Reddy votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, interesting battle could be seen between Telugu Desam Party and Indian National Congress here Telugu Desam Party candidate defeated his Indian National Congress counterpart with a difference of 1816 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defated JNP candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC(I) candidate Indira Gandhi attained 301577 votes and JNP's S. Jaipal Reddy bagged 82453 votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated BLD candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Mallikarjun attained 239813 votes and BLD's Narasimba Reddy bagged 96303 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, TPS candidate had defeated INC candidate by a margin of 53431 votes TPS candidate Mallikarjun had got 152975 while INC got Narsimha Reddy votes.
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated IND candidate by a margin of 84665 votes INC candidate S. L. Bai . had got 127917 while IND got K. Ramiah votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 19132 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader P. Hanumantha Rao attained 88098 votes and IND candidate Molgu Jagannathreddy bagged 68966 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated PDF candidate with a difference of 23901 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader P. Hanmanth Rao attained 106511 votes and PDF candidate Maqdum Mohiuddin bagged 82610 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, PDF candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 19680 votes. Here, PDF leader Jaisoorya attained 90366 votes and INC candidate Srinivas Rao bagged 70686 votes
