Mayurbhanj: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Rama Chandra Hansdah from Biju Janata Dal (BJD) won the elections by a margin of 122866 votes. The polling / voting in Mayurbhanj constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Vishweswar Tudu and Biju Janata Dal#s Debasish Marandi

• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 74319 votes BJP candidate Salkhan Murmu had got 249255 while INC got Susila Tiria votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Sushila Tiriya attained 218613 votes and BJP's Salkhan Murmu bagged 107424 votes.
