Jadavpur: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Sugata Bose from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 125203 votes. The polling / voting in Jadavpur constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 7 on 19 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Prof. Anupam Hazra and All India Trinamool Congress#s Mimi Chakraborty

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Jadavpur Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 79.73% Lok Sabha percent with 82.20% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Out of the 13 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Jadavpur, 11 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Sugata Bose of the All India Trinamool Congress as he defeated Sujan Chakraborty by a margin of 125203 votes.

• 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, All India Trinamool Congress candidate had defeated Communist Party of India candidate by a margin of 66765 votes AITC candidate Krishna Bose had got 485366 while CPM got Kanti Ganguly votes.
• 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, WBTC candidate had defeated Communist Party of India candidate by a margin of 78201 votes WBTC candidate Krishna Bose had got 514338 while CPM got Malini Bhattacharya votes.
• 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Communist Party of India candidate with a difference of 13038 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Krishna Bose attained 499254 votes and Communist Party of India candidate Malini Bhattacharya bagged 486216 votes
• 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 50301 votes CPM candidate Malini Bhattacharya (W) had got 398896 while INC got Santosh Bhattacharya votes.
• 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, Communist Party of India candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 30900 votes. Here, Communist Party of India leader Malini Bhattacharya attained 441188 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Mamata Banerjee bagged 410288 votes
• 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Communist Party of India candidate with a difference of 19660 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Mamata Banerjee attained 331618 votes and Communist Party of India candidate Somnath Chatterjee bagged 311958 votes
• 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha poll, Communist Party of India candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPM candidate Somnath Chatterjee attained 309094 votes and INC(I)'s Sachinath Mitra bagged 162979 votes.
• 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, Communist Party of India candidate defated CPI candidate in one-sided contest. Here, CPM candidate Somnath Chatterjee attained 236085 votes and CPI's Mohammad Elias bagged 97450 votes.
