Howrah: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Prasun Banerjee from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 196956 votes. The polling / voting in Howrah constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 5 on 6 May. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Rantidev Sen Gupta and All India Trinamool Congress#s Prasun Banerjee
Howrah 2014 Lok Sabha PollsIn the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.
