Cooch Behar: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Renuka Sinha from All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) won the elections by a margin of 87107 votes. The polling / voting in Cooch Behar constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 1 on 11 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Nisith Pramanik and All India Trinamool Congress#s Paresh Chandra Adhikary

Cooch Behar 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, All India Trinamool Congress won 34 out of the 42 parliamentary seat with 39.8 percent vote share while the Communist Party of India (Marxist) managed to win just 2 seats with a 23 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Cooch Behar Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 82.58% Lok Sabha percent with 81.17% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 84.15% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 11409 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 12 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Cooch Behar, 10 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Renuka Sinha of the All India Trinamool Congress as he defeated Dipak Kumar Roy by a margin of 87107 votes.

  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha poll, FBL candidate defated All India Trinamool Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, FBL candidate Amar Roy Pradhan attained 443148 votes and AITC's Ambika Charan Ray bagged 334983 votes.
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha poll, FBL candidate defated FB(S) candidate in one-sided contest. Here, FBL candidate Amar Roypradhan attained 396140 votes and FB(S)'s Gobinda Roy bagged 272974 votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, FBL candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 89034 votes FBL candidate Amar Roy Pradhan had got 393667 while INC got Sabita Roy votes.
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha poll, FBL candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, FBL candidate Amar Roy Pradhan attained 414037 votes and INC's Sabita Ray (W) bagged 281805 votes.
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha election, FBL candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 53470 votes FBL candidate Amar Roy Pradhan had got 422168 while INC got Sabita Roy votes.

  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, FBL candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 43836 votes. Here, FBL leader B. K. D. Chowdhury attained 167971 votes and INC candidate P. C. Barman bagged 124135 votes
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, FB candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 31760 votes. Here, FB leader Debendra Nath Karjee attained 141436 votes and INC candidate Upendra Nath Barman bagged 109676 votes
