Background

Bhilwara: In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Subhash Baheria from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) won the elections by a margin of 246264 votes. The polling / voting in Bhilwara constituency in the 2019 General elections took place in Phase 4 on 29 April. The major contest is between Bharatiya Janata Party#s Subhash Chandra Baheria and Congress Party#s Rampal sharma

Bhilwara 2014 Lok Sabha Polls

In the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Bharatiya Janata Party won 25 out of the 25 parliamentary seat with 54.9 percent vote share while the Indian National Congress managed to win just seats with a 30.4 percent vote share.

Voter turnout in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections in Bhilwara Lok Sabha Lok Sabha constituency. The total voter turnout was 62.92% Lok Sabha percent with 64.33% Lok Sabha percent male voters turning out to cast their votes. Meanwhile, 61.42% Lok Sabha percent of the women voters cast their votes and 19698 Lok Sabha voters pressed on the NOTA

Out of the 11 Lok Sabha candidates who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Bhilwara, 9 had to deposit their security. The voters gave their mandate in favour of Subhash Baheria of the Bharatiya Janta Party as he defeated Ashok Chandna by a margin of 246264 votes.

  • 2004 Lok Sabha Elections: In 14th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate had defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a margin of 60652 votes BJP candidate Vijayendrapal Singh had got 317292 while INC got Kailash Vyas votes.
  • 1999 Lok Sabha Elections: In 13th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 14229 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Vijayendra Pal Singh attained 287858 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Rampal Upadhayay bagged 273629 votes
  • 1998 Lok Sabha Elections: In 12th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate by a margin of 79951 votes INC candidate Rampal Upadhayaya had got 356914 while BJP got Subhash Chandra Baheriya votes.
  • 1996 Lok Sabha Elections: In 11th Lok Sabha election, Bharatiya Janta Party candidate defeated Indian National Congress candidate with a difference of 17209 votes. Here, Bharatiya Janta Party leader Subhash Chandra Baheriya attained 212731 votes and Indian National Congress candidate Mahendra Singh Mewar bagged 195522 votes
  • 1991 Lok Sabha Elections: In 10th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate with a difference of 10761 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Shiv Charan Mathur attained 217117 votes and Bharatiya Janta Party candidate Ram Swaroop Gupta bagged 206356 votes
  • 1989 Lok Sabha Elections: In Ninth Lok Sabha poll, JD candidate defated Indian National Congress candidate in one-sided contest. Here, JD candidate Hamendra Singh attained 290952 votes and INC's Girdhari Lal bagged 158855 votes.
  • 1984 Lok Sabha Elections: In 8th Lok Sabha poll, Indian National Congress candidate defated Bharatiya Janta Party candidate in one-sided contest. Here, INC candidate Girdhari Lal Vyas attained 250254 votes and BJP's Arjun Lal Chochani bagged 98618 votes.
  • 1980 Lok Sabha Elections: In 7th Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated JNP candidate by a margin of 74349 votes INC(I) candidate Girdhari Lal had got 170671 while JNP got Roop Lal Somani votes.
  • 1977 Lok Sabha Elections: In Sixth Lok Sabha poll, BLD candidate defated INC candidate in one-sided contest. Here, BLD candidate Rooplal Somani attained 227649 votes and INC's Ram Prasad Ladha bagged 99257 votes.
  • 1971 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fifth Lok Sabha election, BJS candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 19459 votes. Here, BJS leader Hamendra Singh attained 142824 votes and INC candidate Ramesh Chandra bagged 123365 votes
  • 1967 Lok Sabha Elections: In Fourth Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate had defeated BJS candidate by a margin of 79436 votes INC candidate R. Chandra had got 135466 while BJS got Umashanker votes.
  • 1962 Lok Sabha Elections: In Third Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated IND candidate with a difference of 42170 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Kalu Lal Shrimali attained 82388 votes and IND candidate Sheodan Singh bagged 40218 votes
  • 1957 Lok Sabha Elections: In Second Lok Sabha election, Indian National Congress candidate defeated RRP candidate with a difference of 28601 votes. Here, Indian National Congress leader Ramesh Chandra attained 74149 votes and RRP candidate Mody Homi Phiroze Shah bagged 45548 votes
  • 1951 Lok Sabha Elections: In India's Very First Lok Sabha Polls, RRP candidate defeated INC candidate with a difference of 13201 votes. Here, RRP leader Hari Ram attained 51562 votes and INC candidate Ramesh Chander bagged 38361 votes
