UPSC Civil Services Prelims 2021: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the UPSC civil services preliminary examination 2021. The decision to postpone the civil services prelim examination has been taken as a precautionary measure in view of the prevailing covid-19 pandemic across the country.
Earlier, the UPSC had scheduled the UPSC civil services preliminary examination to be conducted on June 27, 2021. In wake of the covid-19, the commission will now conduct the UPSC civil services prelims on October 10, 2021.
“Due to the prevailing conditions caused by the Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), the Union Public Service Commission has deferred the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2021, which was scheduled to be held on 27th June, 2021. Now, this Examination will be held on 10th October, 2021,” the commission notified.
The commission holds the UPSC civil services examination in three stages such as preliminary, main and interview. The examination is held to recruit officers of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among various others.
Earlier, the commission had also postponed the Personality Test for the UPSC civil services examination 2020 in view of the surge in the covid-19 cases across the country. The commission had also said that it will notify the fresh dates for the UPSC civil services personality test 2020 in a due course of time.
In 2020, the UPSC civil services prelim examination was also postponed from May 31 to October 4, 2020.
