Here’s a sigh of relief for the Padukone family as actress Deepika Padukone's father & legendary Badminton player Prakash Padukone has been discharged from a Bengaluru hospital where he was admitted for a week due to Covid.
According to reports, Prakash Padukone is on a road to good recovery after being hospitalised on May 1 as a precautionary measure since his fever was not subsiding.
He was discharged on Saturday and is doing well at home.
Padukone's friend and the director of his academy U Vimal Kumar told an entertainment portal: "He was out on Saturday. He is at home and doing well. His family is all well too."
Earlier the entire Deepika Padukone & her entire family including her mother and sister tested positive for the coronavirus. But the actress didn’t share any statement on social media. Reportedly, they recovered in home isolation.
Earlier, Vimal Kumar, a close friend of Prakash Padukone had told PTI, "Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive He is okay now. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days.”
The 65-year-old former badminton player Prakash Padukone was the first Indian to clinch the All England title in 1980 and again reached the final the following year.
He was also the first Indian to win a medal at the World Championships, a bronze in Copenhagen in 1983.
