New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has postponed the notification of Combined Medical Services (CMS) 2020 which was to be released on July 22nd 2020. According to the latest notice issued by UPSC, the notification of Combined Medical Services (CMS) 2020 will now be issued on July 29th 2020. UPSC releases the recruitment notification for Combined Medical Services in the month of April every year.

This year due to pandemic the exam notification has been delayed. Candidates will be able to check vacancy details, exam dates, eligibility criteria, and all other details once, the notification is released on the official website later this month.

According to the last notice released by the Commission the UPSC CMS 2020 examination was to be held on October 22, 2020. While the last date to apply for the CMS exam 2020 was fixed on 11 August 2020.

UPSC conducts Combined Medical Services exam every year. The recruited candidates are chosen for posts such as

  • Assistant Divisional Medical Officer in Railways

  • Assistant Medical Officer in Health Services of Indian Ordnance Factories

  • Junior Scale in Central Health Services

  • General Duty Medical Officer in New Delhi Municipal Corporation

  • East Delhi Municipal Corporation, North Delhi and South Delhi Municipal Corporation

  • General Duty Medical Officer Grade-II

CMS exam is conducted in two phases, first, consists of a computer-based examination of two subjects each of 250 points. If the candidate passes the first part, they qualify for the second round which is a 100 pointer and also holds a personality test.
