EPL Champions Liverpool Football Club added yet another impressive win in their title winning season in the English Premier League as they beat rivals Chelsea 5-3 in a high scoring goal fest at the Anfield Stadium in the penultimate match of the season.


After their impressive victory against Chelsea, Liverpool were also presented with the Premier League Trophy for the 2019-20 season for already having won the league with an unassailable lead at the top of the table. Liverpool's seasoned skipper Jordan Henderson - currently out injured - received the trophy from Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish on a special podium built on the Famous Kop at the Anfield Stadium.

It was a jubilant atmosphere and triumphant moment for both the players and the supporters of the North London club as the club lifted the cherished piece of silverware in top flight English football for the first time in 3 decades.As fireworks exploded from the roofs of the mostly empty Anfield stands, red smoke filled the void.


The already crowned EPL Champions played an all attacking style of football in the first half as Naby Kieta, Trent Alexander Arnold and Georgino found the back of the net to give the 'Reds' a 3-0 lead.However, Chelsea strikes Oliver Giroud pulled one back for the Blues as the scoreline in the halftime read 3-1.

The second half proved to be another goal scoring affair as Roberto Firminho scored in the 55th minute to put Liverpool 4-1 up.Goals from Tammy Abraham and Christain Pulisic got Chelsea back into the game with a 4-3 scoreline.

Towards the dying stages of the game, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain put the final nail in the coffin as he registered the fifth goal for Liverpool in the 84th minute of the match, giving the Reds a 5-3 win.

Liverpool who have an unassailable lead at the top of the EPL standings, have 96 points from 37 matches. The champions will round off their EPL winning season with their last fixture against Newcastle.

On the other hand, Chelsea will lock horns with Wolves in their final match of the 2019-20 season. The Blues have 63 points from 37 matches and the side would be looking to finish in the top four to seek qualification for the Champions League
