Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday said in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the state should work towards developing composite school complexes. These complexes will be created by timely upgrading Atal Vidyalayas, PM Shri Vidyalayas, and Mukhyamantri Abhyuday Vidyalayas in the state, as reported by PTI. The objective is to enhance the quality of education and provide comprehensive learning opportunities for the students in Uttar Pradesh.


These schools should be operated based on the components of the NEP 2020 and children, besides being imparted formal education, should be engaged in sports activities as well, he said.


Adityanath held a meeting with officials of the higher education, secondary education, and basic education departments to discuss the implementation of the National Education Policy, an official release said.








The chief minister said that the need for workshops across all districts to raise awareness among teachers about the National Education Policy (NEP). He advocated for the development of a state curriculum framework that integrates Indian knowledge, local practices, and historical aspects. The chief minister also stressed the importance of introducing vocational courses using a 'learning by doing' approach and providing students with comprehensive career counseling.


In addition, he proposed the implementation of holistic report cards for students and the establishment of digital libraries.








Additionally, self-defence training should be imparted to girl students, he said.

West Bengal Adopted 4-Year UG Programme As Part Of NEP 2020


In a recent statement to the assembly, the Education Minister of West Bengal, Bratya Basu, revealed that the state has chosen to implement only one recommendation from the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Specifically, West Bengal has adopted the 4-year honours courses at the undergraduate level. The minister clarified that no other recommendations from the NEP 2020 have been taken up by the state. The decision to adopt the 4-year honours course was driven by the interest of approximately 7 lakh students in the state who need to compete with students from other states on a national level.
