Schools Closed: These States Have Shut Down Schools Due To Cold Wave

Winter Vacation In Schools: From UP to Delhi, many states have shut down schools amid the cold wave.

Schools Closed Due To Cold Wave: The cold wave has hit many states across North India. Due to the extreme cold weather, many states announced or extended the winter vacation in schools. Here is the list of states where schools are closed to ensure the safety of students from the cold wave:

Delhi:

Delhi people are experiencing teeth-chattering cold. The Directorate of Education in Delhi announced that all schools will remain closed for winter vacation from January 1 to 15.

Madhya Pradesh:

In the view of cold wave in Madhya Pradesh, schools were closed in a few districts on Friday. Schools in some districts including Bhopal, Indore, Vidisha and Ujjain have been closed up to January 10, 2023 for classes up to class 8.

Jaipur (Rajasthan)

The District Collector of Jaipur issued an order to extend the winter vacations in the government schools of the city. The schools for classes 1 to 8 will remained closed till January 14.

Bihar:

Schools in Patna and Muzzafarupur will remain closed for students studying in classes 1 to 8 from January 2 to January 7. 

Jharkhand:

Due to the intense cold wave,  Jharkhand Schools will remain closed for students of Classes 1 to 5 till January 8, 2023. 

Uttar Pradesh:

Noida schools will remain shut for classes 1 to 8 till January 14. In the state capital Lucknow, Schools are closed till January 7 for all classes. In Agra, Authorities have ordered the closure of all schools up to class 12 till January 7. In addition to this, schools in the Mainpuri district are closed till January 14.

Haryana:

In Haryana, all government and private schools will remain closed till January 15, 2023. However, for classes 10 and 12 schools will remain open from 10 am to 2 pm in the wake of the Board examinations.
