New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Wednesday declared the result of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate (NEET UG 2022) on its official website — neet.nta.nic.in. Tanishka from Rajasthan is the first All India Rank (AIR) holder while Ashish Batra from Delhi has bagged the second position and Karnataka's Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule has secured third position, according to the topper's list.


The NEET-UG 2022 exam has been cleared by 9.93 lakh candidates. The overall pass percentage stood at 56.28, nearly the same as last year. This year, a total of 1872343 candidates registered for NEET UG out of which 1764571 appeared and 99,3069 qualified in the exam. The testing agency has released the NEET 2022 cut off for all students waiting for their NEET UG results 2022.

NEET Toppers' list 2022 


Tanishka shared the same score (715) with those on the second, third and fourth rank, reported news agency ANI. . Although second and third rank holders also scored 99.99 percentile, the rank was decided based on the NTA’s “tie-breaker” formula. Around 18 female candidates are among the top 50 on the list while 32 male candidates made it into the list of the top 50 in India, the report added.


Others who featured in the top 10 in the country include Rucha Pawashe (715) from Karnataka, Errabelly Sidharth Rao (711) from Telangana, Rishi Vinay Balse (710) from Maharashtra, Arpit Narang (710) from Punjab, Krishna SR (710) from Karnataka, Zeel Vipul Vyas (710) from Gujarat, and Haziq Parveez Lone (710) from Jammu and Kashmir.


The exam has been cleared by 4,29,160 males out of the 7,63,545 who appeared in the exam. While 5,63,902 females out of 10,01,015 candidates who took the NEET UG 2022 has passed the exam.


The majority of the candidates qualified from Uttar Pradesh, followed by Maharashtra.


Steps to download NEET-UG Results


Students can also access their scores at the NTA website — nta.ac.in. The candidates can download results using log-in credentials- application number, date of birth.



  • Visit neet.nta.nic.in. to download the result

  • Click on the notifications section and search for the NEET UG 2022 direct result link.

  • Enter log-in details, like a roll number and date of birth on the login page

  • Click on the "Submit" option.

  • Your NEET UG 2022 result will appear on the screen.

  • Download, save, and print the scorecard for future reference.


From this year, NTA removed age as tie-breaking. This means that if there is a tie between two students, then NTA will settle it on the basis of marks obtained in Biology. If it persists, preference is given to the student with higher marks in Chemistry followed by the candidate with fewer wrong answers.


Along with the provisional answer keys, the National Testing Agency also released the NEET OMR response sheets of the candidates. By using the NEET answer key and OMR answer sheet, candidates can calculate their estimated marks.


A total of 18.72 lakh candidates registered for the entrance test held on July 17. Around 95 percent of the candidates appeared for the NEET UG, according to the agency. The medical entrance examination was held across 3,570 centres in 497 cities in India and 14 cities abroad. Over 16 lakh students took the NEET UG 2022 exam this year.
