New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Monday announced that the state government will cancel level 2 of the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET) 2021 on Monday after receiving criticism over the REET 2021 paper leak.

"We will cancel the level 2 of REET test 2021, and we will conduct this exam again," Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated during a news conference, ANI reported.

Politics around the REET 2021 paper leak had heated up as the BJP continued to target the state administration over the subject.

Various BJP factions staged protests around the state, calling for the exam to be cancelled.

The Rajasthan government's decision to withdraw REET 2021 comes only days after RLP convenor and Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal raised the REET paper leak issue of 2021 in the Lok Sabha, demanding a CBI investigation as well as the cancellation of the examinations.

“There should be a CBI inquiry into the REET cheating case. The youth of Rajasthan are agitating. Huge anomalies are being reported in the REET exams. We want REET 2021 to be cancelled and there should be a CBI inquiry into the rigging," Beniwal had said while speaking at Lok Sabha.

Following the raising of the session, Beniwal informed the media that when the police's Special Operation Group (SOG) acknowledged that test papers were taken from the education complex, it was apparent that the case's strands were related to numerous IAS officers, the government, and even the CMO. As a result, he suggested that a CBI inquiry is required.

Upen Yadav, the head of the Rajasthan Unemployment Unified Federation, has also urged a CBI investigation into the issue, as well as an increase in the number of job openings.
