Odisha Class 12 Exam 2021 Cancelled: The Odisha government on Friday decided to cancel the class 12 board examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in view of the covid-19 pandemic. The decision to cancel the CHSE Odisha class 12 board examination was taken after Prime Minister Modi on June 1 announced the cancellation of the CBSE class 12 board exam.

While making the announcement of the cancellation of the CHSE Odisha class 12 board examination, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that the safety of students and teachers is more important compare to the examinations. "If there is life, then there is the possibility of society and civilization to move forward. If there is no life, nothing can be achieved," CM Naveen Patnaik was quoted by PTI in its report.

Patnaik further added that the well-defined objective criterion will be formulated based on which the students of the CHSE Odisha Class 12 board will be evaluated. He directed the council officials to come up with the CHSE Odisha class 12 evaluation criterion in a "time-bound manner."

Earlier, the state government had already canceled the Odisha SSC or class 10 board examination keeping the prevailing covid-19 situation in mind.

The decision to cancel the CBSE class 12 board examination was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

After the meeting, PM Modi on his official Twitter handle wrote, "Government of India has decided to cancel the Class 12 CBSE Board Exams. After extensive consultations, we have taken a decision that is student-friendly, one that safeguards the health as well as future of our youth."

Note: Students are advised to keep visiting the official website of the CHSE Odisha regularly for the latest updates regarding the board examinations.
