Mumbai: ‘The Family Man 2’ is one of this year's most anticipated web series. Starring Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles, ‘The Family Man 2’ released on June 3, 2021, on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. The first season of ‘The Family Man’ received lots of appreciation from both the critics and the audience. Manoj Bajpayee was lauded for his performance as a secret intelligence officer working for a fictitious branch of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).


Well, during the first episode of ‘The Family Man 2’, Manoj Bajpayee can be seen struggling between his 9 to 5 job and fulfilling his responsibilities towards his family. Manoj reprised the role of Srikant Tiwari, who now works at an IT firm and earns a sufficient amount of money to cater to his family's financial needs. Though he earns adequate money for his family, Srikant’s wife stays aloof from him which creates tension in the family. Srikant and his wife Suchi even consult a marriage counsellor for the same. However, when his wife suggests taking a break from their 16 years of marriage, Srikant joins back as a secret intelligence officer and sets off for the mission to Chennai leaving his family behind in Mumbai.

Samantha Akkineni, who made her digital debut with ‘The Family Man 2’ stole the show with her performance as one of the Sri Lankan Tamil rebels who assemble and prepare to assassinate the Prime Minister of India Ms Basu portrayed by Seema Biswas. Samantha is seen in a never-seen-before avatar in ‘The Family Man 2’.


The second season also gives an insight into the incidents which took place after the tragic gas leak incident which killed several people. It also shows why Srikant Tiwari decided to leave his job as a secret intelligence officer and join an IT firm.


‘The Family Man 2’ has been created, directed and produced by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. Other than Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni, this web series also features Sharib Hashmi, Priyamani, Darshan Kumar, Sharad Kelkar, Sunny Hinduja, Shreya Dhanwantary, Shahab Ali, Vedant Sinha and Mahek Thakur in pivotal roles.
