The Supreme Court will hear the NEET PG 2024 result transparency case on November 26, 2024. On Wednesday, the Court postponed the hearing, marking the fourth delay in recent months. This case, focused on demands for greater transparency in the postgraduate medical entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), has left aspirants frustrated as they await clarity on the examination process.

The petition, filed by a group of NEET PG 2024 candidates, calls for the release of the exam’s answer key, raw marks, and an explanation of the normalisation method used to calculate results. The NBE, however, has refused to comply, citing confidentiality as a part of its admission policies.

The case has been ongoing since September 7, 2024, when 19 NEET PG candidates filed the petition. Their concerns include abrupt changes to the exam pattern just days before the test and the lack of transparency in processing results. The repeated delays in the hearing have added to the anxieties of aspirants, who are demanding accountability from the authorities.

Despite repeated appeals from NEET PG 2024 candidates, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) has firmly stated that the exam content, including question papers and answer keys, will remain confidential. The Board cites its admission policy to justify this decision, asserting that maintaining confidentiality is a critical part of the examination process.

The results for NEET PG 2024 were announced on August 23, 2024, but the lack of transparency regarding the answer keys and raw scores has heightened frustrations among aspirants, who continue to voice their concerns over the evaluation process.

The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test—Postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) was conducted on August 11, 2024, across 416 exam centers nationwide, with a total of 2,28,540 candidates registered. This year, candidates were notified just days prior that the exam would be held in two shifts: Shift 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM and Shift 2 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
