Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25: The Day 1 of the first Test match between India and Australia at the Optus Stadium in Perth has not disappointed at all, as Friday morning has provided fans all over the world with loads of exciting stuff.
The biggest headline for now is the dismissal of KL Rahul, which has sparked a huge debate over the social media platforms, as fans all over the world have questioned the credibility and utility of technology used during decision reviews by third umpire.
The Indian batter was looking absolutely settled out there and on-song, as he had aboserbed the pressure put on by Australian bowlers with early scalps, but was caught behind the stumps by Alex Carey.
However, the umpire deemed him not out before reversing his decision to out after third umpire overturned his decision.
Upon seeing the replays, it was clearly visible that the bat flicked the pads, and 'Snicko' showed only one deviation, and this has now sparked a huge debate.

Split Opinions Between Commentators
Australia commentary duo of Matthew Hayden and Mark Nicholas had different opinions on KL Rahuls's dismissal, as Hayden jumped in favour of KL Rahul, while Mark Nicholas justified the 'Out' decision.
"His pad and bat are not together at that point in time as the ball passes. It's (bat hitting pad) after, in fact, the ball passes the edge. Does Snicko pick up the sound of the bat hitting the pad? We're assuming (Snicko) may be the outside edge of the bat but that may not be the case," said Hayden.
To this, Mark Nicholas stated that the bat was away from the pads when 'Snicko' caught the sound and therefore, he was correctly deemed 'Out'.
