MHT CET 2021 Admission: The Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant have announced that this year the admission to the first year degree course of traditional non-professional courses in colleges affiliated to non-agricultural universities will be conducted based on the marks obtained by the students in their Class 12 board examination only and no Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted for this. This decision has been taken as a one-time measure in view of the covid-19 pandemic. 


"The results of Class XII examination have been declared and admission to the first year degree course of traditional non-professional courses in colleges affiliated to non-agricultural universities will be on the basis of Class XII marks only and no Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted for this," Uday Samant tweeted on Wednesday. 



He also said that requests were being made from several quarters to not conduct CET for non-professional courses. After discussion with all the universities, it has been decided that admission in Arts, Commerce, Science courses will be on the basis of the Class 12 examination.


"CET for Management, Computer Science, Architecture and Hotel Management courses will be conducted from August 26. For engineering courses, CET will be conducted in two sessions. The first session will be conducted from 4th to 10th September and the second from 14th to 20th September," the minister said. 


The MHT CET 2021 exam for LLB courses will begin on 16 September. Samant further adds, "We have decided to increase the number of centers where CETs will be conducted." He said that the state government will also make a decision on reopening the colleges in the next eight days after considering the situation of covid-19 in the respective districts."
