UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2021: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Thursday released the notification for civil services (Preliminary) examinations (CSE) 2021 on its official website. Interested candidates can visit the official website of UPSC - upsc.gov.in - to apply for the civil services examination.
As per the notification, registration process for UPSC prelims examination will begin from March 4, 2021 and candidates can apply till March 24, 2021.
Aspirants willing to apply for the examination must ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility criteria set by the UPSC for admission to the examination. The UPSC will conduct Civil Services preliminary examination on June 27 at various centres across the country.
Reports suggest that UPSC Civil Services preliminary examination will have 712 vacancies this year.

As per the Commission, the Civil Services examination will comprise two successive stages - i. Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination which will have objective type exam format, ii. Civil Services (Main) Examination which will have written and interview/personality test type format. After one gets selected in Main exam, he/she will be chosen for various Services and Posts.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for UPSC Civil Services examination has to be an Indian national to qualify for the posts of IAS or IPS. For other posts, candidates can be Indian, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan migrants. Check official website for detailed description.
Age Limit
Aspirants must be at least 21 years or above in age to apply for UPSC Civil Services examination and must not have attained the age of 32 years. However, there are certain age relaxation for reserved categories such as SC/ST.
