UP Police Constable Exam Cancelled, Re-Examination Within 6 Months

UP Police Constable Exam has been cancelled after allegations of paper leak.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a major decision on Saturday in the interest of the youth, cancelling the recruitment examination for 60,244 constable positions in the UP Police. CM Yogi made this decision after reviewing the matter in a high-level meeting with police and administrative officials. The examination was conducted on February 17 and 18, with nearly 50 lakh youths applying and 48 lakh candidates appearing for the exam.

The Chief Minister directed that these recruitments be conducted with full transparency within six months. He also said that strict action will be taken against those who undermine the hard work of the youth and compromise the integrity of the examination. He instructed the Special Task Force (STF) to conduct a thorough investigation. It is noteworthy that the STF is actively monitoring those who breach the confidentiality of the exam, and has arrested more than 300 individuals so far.

According to sources, CM is highly displeased with DGP Recruitment Board Renuka Mishra and significant action might be taken against her. Renuka Mishra, an IPS officer of the 1990 batch, is under scrutiny. CM could take substantial action against the Police Recruitment Board due to dissatisfaction with its functioning. Several officers of the Police Recruitment Board are under scrutiny.

Earlier, a large number of candidates converged at the Eco Garden in Lucknow to voice their grievances regarding the alleged leakage of the UP Police exam papers. Students expressed their firm belief in fairness and justice, highlighting that any form of injustice against them is unacceptable, especially in a case as significant as the leak of a statewide exam. They demanded the cancellation of the leaked paper and the organisation of a fresh examination.
