Telangana Govt Raises Upper Age Limit For Direct Recruitment Jobs By Two Years

The raising of the upper age limit for jobs in Telangana comes after requests from unemployed youth in the state to increase the age bar for direct recruitment jobs in the state.

In a fresh employment-related development coming in from Telangana, the newly elected state government has increased the upper age limit for direct recruitment jobs in the state by two years. With the new norms in place, the upper age limit for direct recruitment government jobs in Telangana has been raised from 44 years to 46 years now. The move from the Telangana government comes following numerous requests from the unemployed youth of the state to raise the upper age limit of direct recruitment jobs in Telangana to help them with employment and facilitate youth empowerment in the state. The Telangana government announced increasing the upper age bar for jobs in the state through an official order.

 “Government issued orders on raising the maximum age limit prescribed in the Telangana State and Subordinate Service Rules, 1996 for appointment by direct recruitment by "Ten years" L.e., from 34 years to 44 years, for a period of 2 years, to the various categories of posts to be notified for the purpose of direct recruitment, vide G.O. second read above. A number of representations have been received from unemployed youth, for considering relaxation of upper age limit for direct recruitment to enable more unemployed youth to become eligible for recruitment to the various categories of posts,” reads the official order.

“The Secretary, Telangana State Public Service Commission, Hyderabad in the letter third read above, inter alia, has requested the Government to raise the maximum age limit for the posts other than the Uniform Services, further by two (2) years in addition to ten (10) years already raised in the G.O. 2'° read above. Government after careful examination of the matter, have decided to raise the maximum age limit from 44 years to 46 years to other than Uniform Services, for a period of two years,” it adds further.
