SSC Delhi Police Constable Recruitment 2020: Delhi Police on Wednesday registered 14 FIRs against 21 suspects and arrested 11 people for impersonating and cheating during the Delhi Police Constable recruitment examination, an official informed PTI. As many as 67,740 candidates appeared for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT) at various places across Delhi.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting the Constable recruitment examination since June 28, 2021. After arresting 11 people from 21 suspects, the police said that further investigation on the matter is still underway.

In the 14 registered FIRs, it is comprehended that the candidates who had registered for the SSC Delhi Police Constable Recruitment examination had sent impersonators to appear for the computer-based examination held in December 2020, Recruitment Deputy Commissioner of Police Shweta Chauhan informed PTI.

"Since Delhi Police is conducting several stages of verification of the candidates, these impersonators are being caught during the physical test. It is apprehended that gangs active in at least three different states are involved in these cases," Shweta Chauhan was quoted by PTI in its report.

The recruitment drive is being conducted to fill 5,846 vacancies, out of which, 1,944 vacancies are for females and 3,902 for males. The commission had conducted the SSC Delhi Police Constable exam 2020 from November 27 to December 24, 2020.
