When people are losing their jobs due to the Corona crisis, news of relief is coming from the country's IT sector on the employment front. In fact, according to industry estimates, the IT service sector is going to employ more than 150,000 fresh graduates this financial year to meet the growing demand for technology services around the world.

It is estimated that the top four software exporters of the country, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Technologies, and Wipro will primarily employ over 1 lakh 20 thousand freshers in India, while mid-sized firms like LTI and Mindtree will also be appointing a large number of college graduates this financial year. Let us inform you that TCS, Infosys, HCL, and Wipro contribute more than one-third to the total IT service revenue of the country. Kamal Karanth, the co-founder of staffing solutions firm, Xpheno, says that "IT services companies have exhausted their bench and there are not enough people to deploy on new projects because they win big deals."

Indian IT top 4 companies have achieved major deals

Significantly, the top four Indian IT companies have achieved major deals as global corporations have increased spending on digital transformation after the pandemic. While TCS signed a prudential financial deal, Infosys won the Daimler contract and Wipro secured a deal with Metro AG. “Most (Indian IT) service companies have slowed down their fresher hiring in the last few years, while the utilization of these people has increased significantly during the pandemic,” said Karanth, adding to that Karanth said, The demand for freshers is expected to increase in the next 12-18 months. One reason for this is that hiring senior talent is expected to be very expensive in the current market conditions.
