JEE Main 2020: The results for JEE Mains 2020 which started from September 1 and ended on September 6 is likely to be released today. Students can check then results on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in by entering JEE Main credentials which are the application number and password/ date of birth. According to media reports and the information on jeeadv.ac.in, the tentative date for the results is today, September 11, 2020. The National testing Agency (NTA) has not provided any official time for the announcement so students are advised to keep checking the website for the latest updates.


This year according to the Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has said that this year 6.35 lakh candidates out of the 8.58 lakh students who registered appeared for the exams.

Here's how to check the scorecard

Step 1: Visit the official website jeemain.nic.in and click on the activated link that says 'View Result/Scorecard'

Step 2: Enter with you JEE credentials such as application number and date of birth

Step 3: Enter the security pin number and login

Step 4: Your JEE Main scores will be displayed on the screen

The cutoffs will also be released along with the results. The cutoff is the minimum qualifying marks for entry to various institutes in the country. Those candidates who pass JEE Main 2020 by scoring equal to or more than the cutoff marks will become eligible to apply for admission in Institutes of Information Technology (IIIT), and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).

Those candidates applying for the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) will have to appear for JEE Advanced which will take place on September 27 this year.

This year the exams were held after a considerable delay due to the pandemic and backlash from parents, students, and political leaders who continued to urge for postponement of the exams due to increasing Covid 19 cases in India. On Friday, 4th September 2020, the Supreme Court also dismissed the petition filed by ministers of six states seeking review of the court's August 17 order that allowed NEET and JEE (Mains) examinations to be conducted.
