ETS Revises GRE Test: Exam To Be Shorter From September, Scores To Be Available Within 10 Days

From September, candidates will be able to complete the GRE Exam from September within two hours, and candidates will be able to check their GRE Scores within 10 days of taking the exam.

The Educational Testing service (ETS) that conducts the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) has introduced fresh revisions to the examination. As part of the fresh changes, the GRE Exam will now be shorter than the existing exam. Announcing the recent updates, the Education Testing Service has said that from September 2023, candidates will be able to complete the GRE Exam in less than two hours, which is about half the time of the current test pattern. Moreover, candidates will also be able to access their GRE Scores within 10 days of taking the examination.

“The changes we are announcing today underscore the emphasis we place on keeping our customers at the centre of all that we do. As we continue to introduce product innovations, we are committed to balancing two things – maintaining rigour and validity, while improving the test-taker experience,” ETS CEO Amit Sevak was reported as saying by news agency PTI.

The GRE Scores are essential and useful in the holistic admissions process of a large number of higher education institutions. Courtesy of the GRE’s wide recognition as the only research-based, fair, and objective measure of cognitive skills. The registration process for GRE Exam as per the revised norms is now open and the tests incorporating the new changes would begin from September 2023.
